Handling your data with care

Privacy policy

Personal contact calls for care. Here you can read how JOE Recruitment handles the data of candidates, employers and website visitors.

This is a translation. In case of any difference, the Dutch version prevails.

Who is responsible?

JOE Recruitment (formerly RecruitMe) is a trade name of JH Management Services, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 73137022. Joey Hoogendijk is your contact person. You can reach him at joe@joerecruitment.eu or +31 6 46033420.

What data do we use?

  • When you get in touch (phone, email, WhatsApp or LinkedIn): your name, contact details and what you tell us.
  • As a candidate: your CV, your career details and notes about your wishes and possibilities.
  • As an employer: the contact details of your contact persons and information about the vacancy.
  • When searching for candidates: data from public professional profiles, such as LinkedIn, and from CV databases where candidates have made their CV available to employers and recruiters themselves.

For what purpose and on what basis?

  • Answering your question and discussing a collaboration. Legal basis: (preparing) a contract, or our legitimate interest in responding to contact.
  • Approaching candidates personally for a suitable position. Legal basis: legitimate interest. We only use professional data needed to assess whether a role could suit someone, and we approach people personally. At first contact we tell you where we got your data. If you say you’re not interested, we stop and delete your data.
  • Sharing your CV with an employer. Legal basis: your consent. We discuss in advance which employer and which role, and only share your CV once you have confirmed this by email. You can always withdraw your consent; this does not affect what has already happened before.
  • Our administration and legal obligations, such as invoicing employers. Legal basis: legal obligation.

Joey assesses candidates himself. Software or AI never independently decides to select or reject you.

How long do we keep your data?

We keep CVs and candidate notes in Microsoft Outlook. After a placement or rejection, we delete the documents and the related emails with attachments. If a process ends earlier, we delete your CV as soon as it ends. If you want us to keep your data longer for future roles, we ask for separate consent. Administrative data we are legally required to keep, such as invoices, is kept for seven years.

After deletion, emails in Microsoft 365 can be recovered for up to 30 days. After that they are permanently gone.

Who do we share data with?

  • Employers, only with your consent (see above).
  • Microsoft (Outlook / Microsoft 365) for email and storing CVs.
  • STRATO, the hosting provider of this website (data centres in Germany). STRATO processes technical data for the operation and security of the site.

Agreements on data processing are in place with these service providers. Microsoft may process data outside the European Economic Area; the safeguards Microsoft describes in its terms apply. We never sell data to third parties.

This website

Forms. If you fill in a form on this site, your message (and your CV, if added) is sent by email to Joey and you receive a confirmation. The website does not store the submitted data; it is then only kept in Outlook and follows the retention periods above.

The WhatsApp and LinkedIn buttons are ordinary links to those services. If you use them, their own privacy terms also apply. This website does not place tracking or advertising cookies and does not load fonts or scripts from Google. Should that change, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first where required.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data. Depending on the processing, you can also ask for restriction or portability, or object, for example to being approached on the basis of legitimate interest. Send your request to joe@joerecruitment.eu.

We respond within one month. If more time is needed, for example because of the complexity of your request, you will hear within that month why and how long it will take. If we have reasonable doubts about your identity, we may ask for additional information.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
